Didn't have to queue for as long as Moohvy, but then I did get there just as the place opened!DGWhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16166104184127814598noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4588205362847565197.post-90363952638593489872009-07-22T23:56:14.182+01:002009-07-22T23:56:14.182+01:00chain reaction was simply FAB last night... i thin...chain reaction was simply FAB last night... i think you may have missed your vocation as an interviewer, fine job. hugely enjoyable evening...Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4588205362847565197.post-3200147742291103622009-07-22T22:19:53.747+01:002009-07-22T22:19:53.747+01:00Latitude sounds great. Our biggest act of devotion was queueing for 1hr and 45 minutes on Good Friday some years ago to get them, and they were, and continue to be, worth it! :-)

En famille we 'listened' to your book reading at Latitude last year - it was pouring down with rain and we couldn't see in to the tent for the crowds (had a 'genius' idea for see-though tents during the reading) but we loved it, start to finish, stood about next to the tent with daft grins on our faces :-)

A great memory, thankyou.Moohvynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4588205362847565197.post-90350826321819904232009-07-22T16:38:48.471+01:002009-07-22T16:38:48.471+01:00I didn't got but hail from around the area so ...I didn't got but hail from around the area so I'm glad you did the one thing I would have recommended - fish & chips on Aldeburgh beach!

I always claim them as the best in the landWill Bnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4588205362847565197.post-51214104381466929312009-07-22T16:16:43.257+01:002009-07-22T16:16:43.257+01:00I agree entirely. Yes, I know they put screens up outside, but that's just not the same. Still, I don't want to sound too down on Latitude, it's still my favourite of all festivals.

Would be interested to hear your thoughts as a performer on whether you think the sequencing of acts can also be problematic. For example, Tom Stade really struggled, in my view, and I wondered at the time if this was because most of the audience in the tent at the time (myself included, I must admit) were just waiting for Jo Brand, whose humour and style are somewhat different from Tom's.

I guess it must be difficult to get the balance right between a varied line-up and a coherent sequence of acts.

Meant also to say, good luck in advance for your cycle/stand-up tour.Piphttp://pip.host22.com/blog/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4588205362847565197.post-90538043013567745222009-07-22T14:33:33.950+01:002009-07-22T14:33:33.950+01:00@Pip: spoiling it for punters is really what I was...@Pip: spoiling it for punters is really what I was talking about. It's the same thing... it spoils it for performers if the audience aren't able to enjoy it properly. I was lucky. Not everyone in the comedy tent was and that's a shame.Dave Gormanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02260701102207639816noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4588205362847565197.post-74311924839761072442009-07-22T14:23:21.609+01:002009-07-22T14:23:21.609+01:00Hello Dave.
Didn't manage to see you at this ...Hello Dave.

Didn't manage to see you at this year's Latitude, though did last year. And I know it's no consolation, but noise intrusion from the main stage spoiled some things for punters too - Nick Cave was way too loud for the last night's poetry tent offerings. But anyway...

The brilliant Ben Moor was in the year above me at school, and even back then it was clear how good he was. I seem to recall him going on Blockbusters, of all things, with another guy (Richard someone, I think) and they were unstoppable, winning all five of their matches without losing a game and successfully completing five Gold Runs. Funny what you remember, isn't it?Piphttp://pip.host22.com/blog/noreply@blogger.com
