Well That Was A Nice Surprise

Apologies for blowing my own trumpet but... well, I was just very pleasantly surprised to see this.

Richard Naylor - one of the producers on Red Dwarf - tweeted this picture recently. I don't know what journal it's from, but my guess is that it's Broadcast. Anyway... you can see why he was tweeting it as well as why it was such a nice surprise for me too.

  1. Nicely done dave. Imagine how much higher up the list it would be if modern life were only just a little better than goodish

  2. Well done Dave, was an original, funny show though... never seen the point of owning a trumpet and not blowing it. But I don't so I can't anyway.

  8. To be clear, UKTV is the company that runs the channels, Gold, Watch, Dave, Eden, Yesterday and Alibi etc.

What I'm especially proud of is that, with the exception of Dynamo - which has been fabulously successful - the other shows are largely originations in the technical sense, in that, yes, they were made for the channel... but they were existing big "brands". Red Dwarf, Morecambe & Wise, Fry & Laurie, The Comic Strip... they're all shows that were grown elsewhere...

  9. A few of the programmes in the top 20 are clip shows (from the BBC). Not what I would call original/originated programmes.
