Well that was productive!
I've just done a month without using the internet.
It wasn't quite as extreme as that. I took Sunday's off. By which I mean, I allowed myself online on Sundays because I wasn't trying to work on Sundays because I was doing the radio show on Sundays.
And I used e-mail. But on work days - and that's been Monday to Saturday - I ignored twitter, facebook, youtube, this blog and the rest of the world wide web. And it was a useful exercise. I got a lot of work done.
So... what did I miss?

annoyingly enough.... probably absolutely nothing, you have gained hours from your life which I am wasting away......... yet realising this I still haven't switched off. sigh.
Think you can ignore us then stroll back in as though nothing has happened? Not a chance. Your dinner is in the dog.
I am of course joking, I don't even own a dog.
Welcome back.
Nothing much.
Any tips on HOW you did it would be gratefully received!
You missed this:

You have missed nothing dave , now dont you feel better !
Time wasting, done well and with purpose, is never a waste of time.
Looking forward to seeing your fruits, Dave, in whatever shape that might be.
(as long as they're not tax returns shaped fruits. I'm not interested in those).
There was a thing. And stuff.
there was a bit of rain in Australia.....
You must have got a lot of work done. I hope whatever you have been working on, has been going well for you.
What did you miss? Well, Twitter started following/unfollowing people at random from people's lists and there's been a bit of commotion in North Africa but, aside from that, not much. January is always quiet though.
My 3 year old son did a standing up wee without any prompting from anyone. I stuck to my New Years Resolution and quit the gym. And I assume you heard about my neighbours.
Oh, and you appeared on Dave (If it can still be called that, after the court case)
Well, ok I know you have appeared on Dave before, but I had totally forgotten that you had been on Have I Got News For You on the day of the "Vice Shame" Mr Angus Deayton - which I got to watch again recently
Other than that - nothing much....
Oh the irony, I'm trying to be creative so I procrastinate by reading blogs about staying offline.
Tragic.
Stay away from Mister Jelly Baby!
