Free Tickets...

We announced the dates for the recordings for the fourth series of Modern Life Is Goodish yesterday. The plan, when we do that,  is that I let my mailing list know first of all and then add the details to my site a day or two later.

So I sat down this afternoon with the intention of adding a link to the tickets here... only to discover that all of the shows are already fully allocated. Which, I suppose, kind of changes the point of this post.

As there's no point plugging the tickets, I guess I ought to plug my mailing list instead... after all, we'll be making series 5 next year and I'll be giving the mailing list first dibs then, too.

Possibly the most disappointing blog I have ever had the pleasure of reading. Being British, I'm fully accepting of this state of mind.

would not have happened in a post Brexit world..... or would it, maybe that will be what cameron will come out with next. If we leave then you will not be able to get tickets for season 5 of goodish.....

I jumped up when I started reading this. Then I sat down again...

To the one or more anonymi, Stacy and Sam: surely the point of the post is to say that, if this news disappoints you now, here's a way of helping you prevent such disappointment in the future.

Hats off to those who've left comments. I was expecting ranty posts but I should've known Gorman fans were of a better ilk.

Free Tickets you say ? No just free entry into yet another email database of evil spam. My disappointment is overwhelming my sence of fairness low. I sir will not thank you as you have only brought me pain. I look forward to more disappointment next year. *drops litter and leaves xx

Dear Mr D Gorman. This anticlimactic experience has left me unmotivated to do my housework. I will sit, sulk and enjoy an Old Mout Cider instead. I will join your mailing list promptly. Please use a subject to excourage interest as spam emails are as common as PPI calls, and as much as i enjoy dragging out those calls, im not so keen on reading the emails as it is wasting my time only. Good luck with your series, i hope you enjoy it as much as your audience.

Regards

Katie-Jane Knott

@Gimpster: if you think of occasional emails from me about things I'm up to - including links to free tickets for recordings - as "evil spam" then you're probably not the kind of person who really wants the free tickets you're complaining about not being able to get.

I highly recommend joining the mailing list, I definitely don't get spam from Dave.
Though I do get emails about free tickets, which I read, and clicked on, and got free tickets :) see you later in the year Dave, I can't wait :D

Dawn, surey you mean "of a better elk"?

I'm just hoping this comment becomes part of a found poem :)

Don't you mean better'elk'?

This is material for the next series. May well be a found poem.

Wonderful piece of click bait. And this coming from a man that wrote an entire book on the subject of modern day, often internet based, bad behavior I do find it a little hypocritical.

Ok, I wouldn't have bothered to comment except when I just tried to sign up to the holy mailing list it told me it was at it's maximum number of subscribers. Not I have no hope of tickets for series 4 and less hope for tickets of series 5! I may have to take up drinking to drown my sorrows as this cup of tea isn't helping!

I'd say Ilk. Disappointed doesn't come close, I was going to apply for tickets even if I didn't feel like going to the venue, anyway I might sign up.

When I read stuff like this I scour the Internet for responses and I like to put these into poem form , I like to call it a lost ticket poem

Sad that I missed the tickets. Sadder still that the mailing list is full so I can't apply next time...

I have opted in and I am now optimistic about getting free tickets in the future. This optimism is somewhat countered by the disappointment of thinking I may have been able to get free tickets in the present, then finding out that, in fact, I wont.
On balance, then, my mood is fairly neutral. Goodish, in fact.

Cheers!

I voted to remain on the mailing list, and will join this mailing list to reinforce my views, despite not knowing what the future of mailing list holds, or indeed the terms and conditions of entry.

To those of you saying that you're annoyed at not getting the free tickets... this isn't the first time I've blogged about the mailing list and explained why I think it's worth signing up. I did it after the tickets went for series 3 too.

Explaining that all the tickets went to the mailing list... and also showing you where the mailing list is... isn't that more about helping you avoid disappointment next time, rather than trying to reinforce it this time!

Almost as disappointing as Kung Fu Panda 3.
